The “addiction” to which the cover refers is to Scientologists’ use of the “e-meter,” a device that they believe detects mental distress. The Hollywood Reporter’s Eriq Gardner likens Ms. Holmes’ case to that of Kato Kaelin, who sued over Globe Communications’ use of a headline during the O.J. Simpson murder trial that implied Mr. Kaelin was involved in the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman.
