Korean Constitutional Court Says Physicians and Hospitals May Advertise More; Current Law Unconstitutional

In a six to three decision, the Korean Constitutional Court ruled yesterday that the nation’s current law banning all but strictly informational advertising pertaining to medical information was unconstitutional. The Court said that doctors and hospitals may publish truthful information via print or broadcasting if it is intended to inform consumers. It would also encourage competition among health-care providers. Read more here.
