Yahoo Launches Digital Library Project

In a massive ebook project that it claims does not compete with Google’s library print program, Yahoo has launched the Open Content Alliance. Yahoo is working with the University of California, the University of Toronto and other partners to bring materials in the public domain to the keyboarding masses. Meanwhile, Project Gutenberg, arguably the oldest volunteer etext project on the net devoted to public domain materials, continues to chug along.
