You won’t be able to ask Jeeves anything much longer. IAC, which owns the Ask.com search engine, is retiring the the faithful virtual retainer. One former employee set up a blog to try to work a deal, but that hasn’t helped. So Jeeves is headed for a virtual retirement community where, one suspects, he’ll spend his days at poolside with PacMan, DonkeyKong, and the characters from Colossal Cave Adventure.
