MIT has temporarily pulled a webpage off its site after Chinese students complained that an image on the page offended them. The page, posted by Pulitzer Prize winning historian John Dower and linguistics professor Shigeru Miyagawa, accompanied their course “Visualizing Cultures” and reproduced a woodblock depicting Japanese soldiers beheading Chinese prisoners during the Sino-Japanese War of 1894-1895.
