Hewlett Packard Agrees to Pay Settlement

Hewlett Packard has agreed to pay $14.5 to make the lawsuit brought by California’s AG Bill Lockyer vanish. Mr. Lockyer had pursued claims that HP violated the privacy rights of some of the members of HP’s Board of Directors as well as some journalists by “pretexting”–a method of illegally obtaining their phone records.
