Police Arrest Newspaper Employee Over Threat
Police arrested Chandler Cardwell, an employee of the Riverside Press-Enterprise, after officials discovered that his cell phone was used to place an ad for a “yard sale” that seemed to threaten local district attorney Rod Pacheco. The ad gave Mr. Pacheco’s home address. The authorities have executed three search warrants while investigating the ad for the yard sale, which indicated that money collected was for a “memorial fund” in Mr. Pacheco’s name. Mr. Cardwell has not yet been charged. Read more here in a Press-Enterprise story and here in a Los Angeles Times story.
