Patarkatsishvili Charged With Conspiracy

Georgian prosecutors are pursuing several charges, including “conspiracy to overthrow the government”, against Badri Patarkatsishvili, the co-owner of Imedi TV. Mr. Patarkatshishvili challenged the current President of Georgia, Mikhail Saakashvili, for the post, in last year’s election, when Mr. Saakashvili ran for re-election, but won less than ten percent of the vote.
