Get Thee Behind Us, Sponge Bob

The PRC is banning Sponge Bob, Mickey Mouse, Pokemon, and other cartoon characters deemed to be dangerous to the baby Chinese animation industry to the post 9 p.m. hours, beginning May 1st. The government hopes that these new regulations will encourage growth in the domestic market and discourage viewing of foreign cartoons. Read more here.
