Hospital Workers Fired At UCLA Medical Center For Unauthorized Pawing Through Britney Spears’s Medical Records

UCLA Medical Center is terminating more than a dozen workers for breaching privacy rules and thumbing through Britney Spears’s medical records. According to the L.A. Times, one California Hospital Association official said, “People still gossip…They’re nosy; they’re curious. They want to be able to tell their friends, ‘I saw Britney’s records.’ Their friends are asking. That’s just how people are. When discipline is imposed, maybe employees will think twice the next time…Maybe they won’t peek as often.” Maybe not.
