Washingtonienne Saga Continues

The District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas has denied Robert Steinbuch’s request to transfer his invasion of privacy lawsuit against Jessica Cutler and Hyperion Books over her novel The Washingtonienne to the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. Originally the court had dismissed the action against the defendants, but the appellate court stayed the appeal as to Ms. Cutler. Since only the suit against the publisher could be transferred, and the plaintiff failed to provide enough information as to defendant publisher’s contacts with the District of Columbia, the motion was denied.
