Woody Allen, American Apparel Settle For $5 Million
Actor/director Woody Allen and manufacturer American Apparel have apparently settled out of court over the company’s use of an image of Mr. Allen from the film “Annie Hall.” A trial was set to start today. Mr. Allen read a statement saying he hoped the $5 million settlement would discourage companies from “trying such a thing again.” But Dov Chaney, the head of American Apparel, indicated the company’s insurance company had decided to settle the case.
