Reporter Can Withhold Information, Northern Ireland Judge Rules

A judge in Northern Ireland has held that a journalist may withhold information about the Real IRA, because to hand it over would put her life at risk. Law enforcement had attempted to force reporter Suzanne Breen to hand over the information to assist in an investigation of the group, but the judge took into account a credible death threat Ms. Breen revealed that she had received.
