Glyndebourne Soprano Has Accident On Stage, Understudies Step Up

Soprano Ana Maria Martinez fell into the orchestra pit at Glyndebourne during a performance of Dvorak’s opera Rusalka, and was taken to the hospital to be checked out “as a precaution”. The performance continued after understudy Natasha Jouhl took over and her own understudy, who ended up making her Glyndebourne debut, could be located. Ms. Martinez has been discharged from the hospital and is reported to be doing well. Read more here.
