Nick Cassavetes Sues New Line Over “Peaceable Kingdom” Directing Job

Nick Cassavetes (“The Notebook,” “My Sister’s Keeper,”) is suing New Line Cinema for breach of contract, alleging it failed to hire him to direct the new film “Peaceable Kingdom.” He rewrote the script, he alleges, with the understanding that he would be hired to direct, but when he delivered the rewrite, he was informed he would not get the position as director.
