“Diary of a Call Girl” Author Revealed as Scientist

A PhD in “informatics, epidemiology and forensic science” has outed herself as the blogger “Belle de Jour, who put herself through a doctoral program as a sex worker, then wrote up her story and sold it to TV. Brooke Magnanti, who now works at St. Michael’s Hospital in Bristol, England, revealed that she was the woman who worked as a prostitute for over a year to earn money for her education and wrote Diary of a Call Girl.
