Louisiana Politician Drops Defamation Lawsuit Against Anonymous Posters

Steve Theriot, the Jefferson Parish (Louisiana) president who filed a lawsuit against anonymous commenters whom he said had defamed him on the www.nola.com website, has dropped the suit, according to a story on nola.com. Mr. Theriot said he “suffered embarrasment” and that the statements were “maliciously false and defamatory.”
