British Government Shuts Down UK Film Council
In a surprise move, the new British government has decided to shut down the UK Film Council, the body in charge of assisting the film industry, just as the agency is celebrating its tenth year of operation. Parliament has recessed for the summer, so workers at the Council are uncertain how to proceed, but they know they will have to wrap up operations soon.
