Paramount’s Partial Win In “La Dolce Vita” Suit

After a drawn-out battle, Paramount Pictures has won a partial victory in a copyright suit against International Media over the ownership of the iconic film La Dolce Vita. Paramount had asserted ownership and copyright infringement against the other company and filed in California federal court. The judge in the court allowed summary judgment on the Paramount claim on US copyright ownership, disallowed the directinfringement claim, and granted summary judgment on the contributory copyright infringement claim.
