Univision Purchases The Root

The Spanish language network Univision has purchased The Root, whose readership is primarily African-American. Univision’s Isaac Lee, who is President and CEO of the network’s news and digital divisions, noted that the acquisition of The Root signals a “game-changing union” and pointed to increasing diversity in media.
