Gannett Abandons Purchase Of Tronc

Gannett has abandoned its proposed purchase of Tronc (the conglomerate which owns a number of newspapers including the Chicago Tribune and the Los Angeles Times). The deal began some months ago. Here’s more from the Guardian, here from the New York Times.
