MGM Goes To Court To Clear Rights For “Buckaroo Bonzai” TV Series

MGM has filed a lawsuit against Earl MacRauch and Walter Richter, the writer and director, respectively, of the 1984 The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension, in order to proceed with a television series using the characters.  The studio asserts that it owns copyright in the characters and is asking a court to clear the way for it to move ahead with it tv deal.
